The PTFE Lined Bellow Expansion Joint is a type of component in pipeline equipment, widely utilized in industries such as food, pharmaceuticals, beverages, and papermaking for liquid concentration processes. The feed liquid enters the PTFE Lined Rubber Joint from the top and is uniformly distributed into a film shape along the inner wall of the tubes by a liquid distributor. It then descends under the influence of gravity. During this process, a mixture of steam and concentrated liquid is generated and drawn out from the lower part of the heating chamber into the separation chamber, where vapor-liquid separation is achieved. The completed liquid is discharged from the bottom of the separation chamber, while the secondary steam is vented from the top of the separator. In this process, the liquid undergoes evaporation and concentration. The Teflon-lined corrugated expansion joint is particularly suitable for materials with high concentration, relatively high viscosity (within the range of 0.05~0.45 NS/M²), and heat sensitivity. When designing a Teflon-lined corrugated expansion joint, it is essential to determine the heat transfer coefficient inside its tubes.
For heat exchange area calculation, the heating area is initially estimated based on the feed rate, followed by estimating the concentration in each effect, conducting an initial calculation of boiling points, and calculating the amount of water evaporated and the consumption of heating steam. The PTFE lined Bellow Expansion Joints can evenly distribute the liquid to each heat exchange tube; since the process fluid flows solely under the influence of gravity rather than being driven by a large temperature difference, it allows for the use of more economical low-temperature differentials. Following the key design considerations for the Teflon-lined corrugated expansion joint will extend its service life and enhance its heat exchange efficiency. The boiling in a Teflon-lined corrugated expansion joint is convective boiling, so the surface condition of the tubes has a relatively minor impact on the boiling process.
