A Duckbill Check Valve is a specialized fluid control component designed to prevent backflow in pipeline systems using a flexible, one-way "duckbill" shaped elastomer sleeve that opens under forward pressure and seals tightly under reverse flow. Its structure features a flanged or threaded metal housing (carbon steel, stainless steel) enclosing a rubber or elastomer (EPDM, nitrile, or PTFE) duckbill element, combining metal’s strength with elastomer flexibility for reliable sealing.

Unlike traditional flap or ball check valves, it has no moving mechanical parts, reducing wear and maintenance needs. Forward flow pressure opens the duckbill’s slit, allowing media passage; reverse pressure collapses the slit into a tight seal, preventing backflow without leakage. This design excels in handling slurries, wastewater, or fluids with solids, avoiding clogs that plague conventional valves.

Constructed with corrosion-resistant materials, it suits diverse environments: stainless steel housings for chemicals, rubber sleeves for water or sewage, and PTFE liners for high-purity applications. It withstands temperatures from -40°C to 120°C (depending on elastomer) and pressures up to 16 bar, making it ideal for municipal sewage, industrial drainage, and marine systems.
