What is a threaded rubber joint? How to choose the right threaded rubber expansion joint for yourself?
The threaded union Rubber Expansion Joint, also known as the Threaded Flexible Connection or Threaded Rubber Flexible Connection, is a type of pipeline joint with high elasticity, high air tightness, medium resistance, and climate resistance. It utilizes the advantages of rubber's elasticity, high air tightness, medium resistance, weather resistance, and radiation resistance. It is compounded with high-strength, cold and heat-stable polyester cord fabric and vulcanized through high-pressure and high-temperature molds. The main functions of the threaded expansionn connection are to reduce vibration, lower noise, provide good flexibility, and be easy to use. Special attention should be paid to its installation length to avoid excessive or insufficient pipeline length, which may affect installation. When selecting a threaded Rubber Joint, we need to consider its nominal diameter, such as DN20-DN80, as well as its sealing performance. According to the manufacturing process, there are two types: mechanical mold and pneumatic mold. The threaded material can be made of malleable iron, and the ball material has various types, including natural rubber, EPDM rubber, oil-resistant rubber, and wear-resistant rubber, which can be selected based on the different medium conveyed inside the pipeline. To choose a suitable threaded rubber joint, several factors need to be considered: working pressure: the commonly used pressure sizes of threaded rubber flexible joints are 1.0MPa/1.6MPa and 2.5MPa. Select the appropriate one based on the working pressure of the pipeline. When the instantaneous pressure of the pipeline is greater than the normal working pressure, a joint with a higher working pressure should be selected. Connection methods: common connection methods include Flange connection, clamp connection, and threaded connection. When installing a threaded Rubber Flexible Joint, it is strictly prohibited to exceed the displacement and deflection limits of the joint. If the displacement is greater than that of the threaded rubber flexible joint, the number of joints should be increased to accommodate the displacement. When using a threaded rubber flexible joint in a suspended manner, the pipeline should be fixed on a bracket or hanger; otherwise, a threaded rubber flexible joint with an anti-pull-off device should be used. Rubber material: the medium for rubber is usually ordinary water. For special circumstances, a special joint needs to be customized. When the temperature reaches above 80°, a high-temperature resistant threaded rubber joint should be used. If the medium contains acid or alkali corrosiveness, a corresponding corrosion-resistant material threaded rubber flexible joint should be used. In summary, the threaded rubber joint is a very important pipeline accessory, widely used in various industrial fields, providing important protection for the normal operation of pipeline systems.
